Solo Exhibition, Electric Room Gallery, Interactive Installation – 2024
It is an interactive collection of colored metal sculptures that were arranged in space as individual pieces. The parts of each piece were coded, and their installation was done with nuts and bolts, using instructions that detailed the steps. Other plans were installed on the wall in the form of blueprints, which included the detailed specifications of the parts, including the construction plan and exact dimensions, the coding table and how to use it.
The first sparks of this idea came in 2019. It was then that I became more acutely aware of our relationships with production and regulatory systems, which are becoming more complex and precise by the day. They are the determinants of our behavior and choices. These systems have shaped the way the body and mind work with high precision, and even these formal changes can be seen in human evolution. As a result, I designed a space of instructions and entertainment tools and observed human behavior.
The pieces are made of tough material and in shapes inconsistent with the human body, in different and bright colors, which, despite their attractive appearance, each includes and limits a part of the human body. The arrangement emphasizes the simulation of human relationships with control systems and their non-stop productions and effects on the body and mind, which they want to control by entertaining.
